Control system project management services include assigning a
Project Manager as a single point of contact for the customer and a
single point of responsibility for the project. The project manager may also act
as the sole or principle engineer for the project depending on the scope of
work. The project manager will have ultimate responsibility for technical
execution, schedule and budget; as well as communication with the customer and
sub-vendors. Where Wilson-Mohr also has turnkey project responsibility,
the project manager will coordinate our own project schedule with that of
installation subcontractors, sub-vendors and the customer to assure that the
separate activities of each culminate in an integrated delivery, construction
and commissioning schedule.
Control system specification services include site surveys to review
existing systems. Typical engineering scope includes specification of
appropriate control system hardware and software, field instruments and valves
to provide a complete solution for the client’s process equipment control
requirement.
Control system design services include process control strategy
and/or sequential logic development, system electrical, power distribution and
field connection design, control loop design, cabinet, panel and skid mechanical
design. Documentation formats include AutoCad drawings/electronic files, control
program printouts/electronic files and documentation binders with manufacturers
manuals and/or electronic files of manufacturers manuals.
Control system programming services include system programming using
the most current software for the selected control platform. Wilson-Mohr can
help to specify the control platform or work with the owner’s standard control
hardware. Wilson-Mohr project engineers are experienced with all major PLC’s and
hybrid DCS platforms and offer application expertise to provide the most
efficient, economical and clear programming techniques available for the
required control functions. In addition, Wilson-Mohr HMI/SCADA programmers can
provide a complete operator interface / SCADA solution to accompany the control
system. Communication interface, graphics, trending & alarm screens and
reports are reviewed, tested and ap-proved prior to shipment.
Control system fabrication services include shop based cabinet
assembly, wiring, piping and testing. Systems are fabricated, debugged and
tested at the Wilson-Mohr facility in Houston using on-staff assembly and wiring
technicians. Shop personnel, project managers and project engineers have
immediate access to each other such that any questions can be answered
immediately. Consequently, Wilson-Mohr does not rely on third party fabricators
to integrate projects.
Control system FAT services include the ability simulate hundreds of
I/O points simultaneously to prove logic and GUI execution under the witness of
the client. In addition, procedures are in place to test nominal system response
and response to unplanned events and operator error. The FAT event is often used
as an occasion to train client personnel on the design specifics, routine
maintenance and operation of their system. A de-tailed FAT report is generated
and submitted with the final documentation package recording the performance of
the system and capturing any design changes resulting from the scrutiny of the
FAT procedures.
